Human Resources Officer



The Opportunity Working with and reporting to the Superintendent of Human Resources, Horizon School Division is seeking a dynamic and intuitive individual to join our human resources team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: This position is in Human Resource Services and focused on collaborating with team members towards ensuring the success of a variety of Human Resources programs and initiatives and providing timely support to management, all schools and all employees. Duties may include but are not limited to:

Processing and support for the administration of employee leaves & other benefits; Processing and analysis of data as related to Human Resources; Support/Conduct interviews, screens, and recruit for entry level, professional and technical job openings; Assists and provides support to ensure the accurate processing of employee contracts and information and the maintenance and standardization of all personnel records. (digital and non-digital); Demonstrates willingness and the ability to face sensitive employee relation situations and willing to take the appropriate action. Supports the absent management system (AESOP). Assists and provides support in relation to collective agreements and employment contracts are being administered and interpreted within legal guidelines and Division standards as set by the Employer. Maintain a sustainable relationship multiple with employee groups and oversee the adherence to wages, working hours and other contractual and non-contractual regulations; Support and coordinate the planning and organization of scheduled events; Successfully complete other duties and projects as assigned;

Qualifications and Abilities:



Business Certificate and/or Office Education Certificate A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related discipline, with a preference for a specialty in Human Resource Management would be considered an asset Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a large and fast-paced office environment is preferred and experience in a Human Resources role would be considered an asset. Experience in Human Resources would be considered an asset Strong computer literacy and experience using a varieties of information technologies and social media Excellent communication skills, able to build effective professional relationships with employees and potential employees Computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Excel Strong attention to detail; Service oriented thinking; Ability to manage time, prioritize daily work and meet assigned deadlines; Support the development of and implementation of employee induction programs Strong team skills to ensure Human Resources responds effectively to employee needs

You work effectively in a team as well as independently, and succeed with minimal supervision.
