Job description and requirementsHuman Resources ManagerCreate value at TC TranscontinentalAt TC Transcontinental, we\'ve got it made, and that\'s because of the expertise of our team.We are currently looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager to support the Whitby packaging plant, located at 201 South Blair St, Whitby, Ontario. Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will provide strategic leadership and coaching for an employee population of 185 salaried and hourly staff. This hands-on Manager will guide a team of one HR professional, with an emphasis on partnering with local operations and corporate HR to accomplish strategic and commercial objectives for the business.If you strive to be amongst the best, are a collaborative team-player who considers trust and respect important in building real partnerships and if open and honest communication is something you value, we want to meet you.When your actions lead to success.Participate in the development of the organization\'s programs and goals as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.Translate the strategic and tactical business plans of the organization and its various departments into HR strategic and operational plans.Act as a change agent to influence integration of technologies, processes, and structure by focusing on organizational effectiveness, accountability, continuous improvement, and team development.Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility.Provide direction and leadership to human resources staff in the performance of duties, work priorities, skill development and goal achievement.Implement performance management programs which identify competency and knowledge gaps, develop people, reward performance, and align with strategic goals.Develop and maintain effective training and development programs which prepare employees for more significant responsibilities.Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.Develop and administer compensation programs which motivate and reward performance.Administer employee benefits programs including retirement plans, medical, dental, term life insurance plans, temporary disability programs, tuition reimbursement and wellness program.When your expertise drives us.Bachelor\'s degree in human resources, Business, or related fieldMinimum of ten (10) years of innovative, progressive human resources leadership experiencePrior HR experience in a manufacturing, printing, construction, or distribution setting strongly preferredFamiliar with ADP payroll - Workforce NowSPHR or SHRM-SCP certification or advanced degree in a related field strongly preferredExperience in formulating policy and, developing and implementing new strategies and proceduresStrong leadership skills and ability to influence people throughout the entire organizationProven track record of leading change initiatives in an organizationWhen benefits really help you live better.Group insurance (including health, life, disability, dental and travel insurance)Integrated Health Platform (Dialogue)Development opportunities where your input makes a differenceSupplier discounts on various productsEmployee-involved decision makingOpportunity to be part of a dynamic and highly motivating work environment where you can maximize your potential and further develop your careerWe have been driving innovation since 1976.With over 8,000 employees and 41 production sites, TC Transcontinental is a leader in the packaging and printing industry, as well as the top French-language educational publishing group in North America.
