The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and dedicated Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations and align HR policies with Shift's business objectives. Reporting to the President and managing an HR Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that HR practices support a culture of employee engagement, compliance, and operational success.
This role focuses on developing and implementing HR policies, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and compensation while working closely with Shift leaders to support company growth.
Key Responsibilities

HR Policy & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with company objectives and employment regulations. Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations, keeping HR policies and practices up to date.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
Oversee hiring processes to attract and retain top talent. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to improve the hiring process and ensure alignment with the company's goals.

Employee Relations:
Act as a key advisor to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution and workplace concerns.

Performance Management:
Develop and manage performance management and appraisal systems to support employee growth.

Compensation & Benefits:
Administer and evaluate compensation structures and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness.

HR Guidance & Mentorship:
Provide coaching and mentoring to Shift leaders in areas of HR policies, procedures, legal compliance, employee performance, workforce planning, ensuring alignment with company objectives and employment regulations.

Training & Employee Development:
Plan, coordinate, and conduct training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and career growth.

HR Analytics & Strategic Insights:
Analyze HR metrics and trends to support data-driven decision-making and identify areas for improvement in workforce management.

Internal Communication & Engagement:
Champion and lead internal communication efforts to ensure alignment and engagement across teams.

Grant & Funding Opportunities:
Identify and secure available grant funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compensation administration.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing company while maintaining a structured and organized approach.
- CPHR designation is strongly preferred but not required.
