About the Role





As our

Human Resources Lead

, you'll be the go-to person for all things HR--driving recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy development, and health and safety programs. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure compliance, foster a positive workplace culture, and champion initiatives that align with our business goals.




Key Responsibilities




Strategic HR Leadership




Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with WestGen's mission and objectives Act as a trusted advisor to management on HR matters, organizational development, and change management Oversee succession planning to build a strong, sustainable workforce

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding




Lead recruitment, post job ads, and conduct screening calls Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and prepare employment contracts Manage onboarding emails, training, and BambooHR setup Perform 30-60-day check-ins and remind managers about 90-day reviews

Employee Relations & Engagement




Foster a positive culture and manage employee relations Respond to inquiries and escalate complex issues to the HR Consultant

Performance Management




Drive performance reviews and professional development programs Maintain review schedules and documentation

Training, Policy & Compliance




Support managers in staff growth and learning opportunities Organize and track company-required training Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain HR policies

HR Systems & Reporting




Administer BambooHR and maintain accurate records Manage time-off policies, vacation balances, and employment updates

Compensation, Payroll & Benefits




Support payroll processing and benefits administration Manage salary structures and pension matching program



What We're Looking For




Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (CPHR designation is an asset) 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices Proven ability to lead HR initiatives and influence at all levels Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong analytical and decision-making abilities High level of confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data-driven HR reporting is an asset Ability to manage change and support a growing, evolving organization



Working Conditions




Occasional travel Flexibility for overtime as needed
