Little Warriors is a national, charitable organization based in Alberta. We are focused on the awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. We also advocate on behalf of and with child sexual abuse survivors.
The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch by Ray LaBonte and Family is a specialized, intensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. The Be Brave Ranch program offers a one-year combined onsite and outpatient program designed with significant input from many leading academic and clinical experts who specialize in child sexual abuse and trauma.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Lead serves as a proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented generalist providing comprehensive Human Resources support across all functions. With a strong focus on collaboration, talent management and people process, the Human Resources Lead leverages deep HR expertise--including occupational health and safety and WCB management--to offer strategic guidance and coaching to leaders within the organization. This role is instrumental in enhancing employee experiences and driving positive organizational outcomes.

Contribute to the overall sustainability and continuous improvement of HR processes by proactively identifying opportunities for change.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership & Consulting
Develop a thorough understanding of leadership and employee needs to provide consultative support on a broad range of HR issues.
Advise leaders on effective people and talent management strategies, including workforce planning, organizational design, talent acquisition, performance management, and career development.
Facilitate processes for evaluating new positions and conducting classification reviews.
Talent Management & Employee Relations
Offer guidance on performance development, coaching, and performance planning to strengthen leadership capabilities.
Support recruitment processes for all recruitment efforts including posting positions, screening, reference checks and the employee offer process.
Facilitate exit interviews, departmental reviews, team development initiatives, employee focus groups, and conflict resolution sessions.
Occupational Health, Safety & WCB Management
Provide guidance on occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative frameworks and best practices.
Oversee the management of WCB claims, collaborating with employees, managers, and external agencies to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Develop and implement initiatives to promote a safe work environment and reduce workplace risks.
Employee Benefits Administration
Evaluating the value of current benefits programs
Communicating with benefits suppliers
Selecting competitive benefits
Educating employees on what benefits are offered
Helping employees enroll in benefits programs
Reviewing and updating employee and benefits information
Organizational Effectiveness & Compliance
Build policies and procedures that promote a safe and healthy workplace while also ensuring that they match accreditation standards.
Interpret and advise on policies, procedures, and employment terms, ensuring alignment with current legislative requirements, including occupational health and safety and workers' compensation guidelines.
Conduct workplace investigations, producing detailed, legally sound reports and recommendations to restore team cohesion.
Support leaders in interpreting employee engagement survey results and implementing effective action plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR generalist or Human Resources Business Partner utilizing a consultative, business partner approach.
Experience in a not-for-profit is helpful but not required.
Demonstrated working knowledge in occupational health and safety, and WCB management is required.
CPHR designation (or in process) is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work in an environment that requires a high level of discretion and ability to defer to our mental health professionals when required.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team and know when to draw in internal and external supports.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts.
Proven track record in building effective working relationships and providing high-quality coaching and guidance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong organizational and time management skills.

Must provide and possess a clear Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector check as well as a clear Child Intervention Record Check.
