What we are looking for:
The HR Systems Specialist will be involved in the planning, design, testing and implementation of the HRIS system in conjunction with IT. They will Identify, analyze and resolve system problems and will be responsible for the maintenance of the HRIS system. The HR Systems Specialist will assist with the development of hospital-wide internal and external reports, meets with end users to understand report requirements and creates processes to optimize the capabilities of the HRIS system. They will also develop HRIS statistical and indicator requirements to support organizational initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
  • Based on HR program planning and design, facilitate discussion around workflow within HR team to determine how to maximize efficiencies, reduce wasted time and effort, and align work in various processes.
  • Plan, organize and facilitate \xe2\x80\x9cdocumentation\xe2\x80\x9d meetings to gain understandings of how the work is currently being done with various stakeholders. (Identifying risks/ root-cause discussion of issues)
  • Suggest solutions and empower process re-design to team members to find solutions to problem areas
  • Identify opportunities for HR technology to reduce manual work
  • Act as a subject matter expert related to HR system matters
  • Participate in and contribute to hospital wide projects and initiatives
  • Translate business needs into requirements- conduct needs assessment with stakeholders, develop functional specifications
  • Work with stakeholders in the planning and delivery of new enhancements
  • Identify changes impacting people, process or technology. Work with team to mange changes
  • Follow up and problem solve with team members during testing stages of various improvement plans
  • Maintain various HR systems ensuring reporting structure, department structure and employee makeup is current
  • Facilitate leader system training
  • Provide ongoing education support to Managers, Directors to enhance the understanding and operations as related to HR systems
  • Work with HR Analyst to ensure HR data is consistent amongst all systems
  • Trouble shoot to resolve issues, work with IT and vendors as required
  • Track and trend analysis on issues
  • Partner with and collaborate with subject matter experts in HR operations, organizational development, OHS and payroll to support system training
  • Support content development for training and communication

What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent relevant work experience required
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in HR systems, Help Desk or Business Analyst role
  • Knowledge of HR practices and policies, payroll processing cycles, occupational health processes/workflows
  • Experience supporting, testing and maintaining HR/Scheduling/OHS systems
  • CHRP/CHRL considered an asset
  • Analytical skills, proficient with MS office, advanced excel skills
  • SAP, SQL and VBA coding is considered an asset
  • Leadership and facilitation skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Experience/ knowledge in various computer applications
  • Lean certification considered an asset
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
