What we need: The Communications and Public Affairs Department is responsible for overseeing all of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external communications. We are looking for a creative, motivated and energetic individual to join the team as a Multimedia Specialist.
With superior project management skills, the Multimedia Specialist must be able to work effectively in high-pressure environments and deliver excellent results under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is a dynamic communications professional with a background design and content creation with a keen interest in corporate communications.
This person will be responsible to design, create and execute promotional and informational materials for Oak Valley Health to support and elevate the organization\xe2\x80\x99s brand and strategic goals. As a brand ambassador, the incumbent will collaborate, inform, and provide expertise and counsel to internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s overall visual concepts including DESIGN, PHOTOGRAPHY, and VIDEOGRAPHY.
The Specialist will also have knowledge of digital landscape including web and social media properties and possess superior writing skills.
Duties include but not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain consistent branding for day-to-day creative requests within the organization
  • Create and produce multimedia from videography and photography to motion and graphic design for various digital and print applications such as social media, digital and paper newsletters, website, signage, etc.
  • Working closely with the Senior Digital Media Specialist to develop new/update existing content, including videos, photos, podcasts, and other interactive elements for social media and web/intranet
  • Editor of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s internal staff corporate e-newsletter (Connections) and corporate external e-newsletter (The Link), while providing guidance and content expertise for other departmental newsletters
  • Assist individuals across the organization with other digital applications as needed (SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, etc.)
  • Responsible for all corporate traditional and digital signage content within the hospital
  • Minimal administrative tasks that include managing the department\xe2\x80\x99s purchase orders and invoicing process
  • Manage the corporate communications email inbox
  • Perform other duties as required

M-F: regular business hours Additional hours as required
Compensation: BAND Q: $32.17 - $37.72 per hour $62,731.50 - $73,554 per year
What you bring to Oak Valley Health:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: General
  • College diploma or University degree in design, with keen interest in public relations/communications
  • 3-5 years of recent and related experience, experience in a health care environment an asset
  • Strong customer-service orientation and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the team
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
  • Experience in project management is an asset
  • Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements and measure success
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy

Design
  • Passion for visual storytelling
  • High level of creativity, with a strong eye for design
  • Impressive design portfolio of creative work with a proven track record in visual design
  • Proven understanding of graphic design fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to launch
  • Core design skills include the ability to establish visual hierarchy, layout, image composition, typography, and colour theory
  • Ability to deliver production-ready assets in a wide variety of formats
  • Familiarity with digital photo editing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Excellent researching, writing, reviewing and editing skills, with the ability to draft copy for all promotional and informational creative content
  • Proficiency with basic video editing software and experience capturing video with special attention to quality of lighting, audio, etc.
  • Solid knowledge, Premiere Pro or other video editing software
  • Experience producing webinars via Zoom and/or other platforms would be an asset

Digital
  • Experience writing website and intranet content and familiarity with a variety of website content management platforms (Drupal, Squarespace, etc.)
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is considered an asset but not required
  • Proficiency with Mailchimp or other email distribution platforms
  • Social media and email marketing experience is considered an asset but not required
