Robert Half is currently partnering with a respected organization in their search for a dedicated Human Resources and Health & Safety Manager. This role encompasses a unique blend of HR management and Health & Safety responsibilities, ensuring both employee well-being and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Job Summary:

The HR and Health & Safety Manager will be instrumental in administering and overseeing both the Human Resources and Health & Safety policies and procedures. This role includes policy development, human resource planning, employee relations, training, recruitment, and ensuring adherence to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive work environment and relationships between management and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop strategic human capital plans in collaboration with other managers.

Facilitate training and development programs for staff and management.

Manage positive relations between employees and the management team.

Conduct employee orientations and health & safety training.

Oversee WSIB claims and manage the Group Insurance Benefit program.

Implement Return to Work programs for injured employees.

Advise on the interpretation and administration of HR policies and best practices.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, such as the Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Coordinate job performance evaluations and manage recruitment processes.

Serve as a mediator between management and employees for resolving work-related issues.

Compile and analyze personnel-related data and reports.

Conduct exit interviews and assist in accident/incident investigations.

Implement and monitor safety practices, policies, and plans.

Take necessary actions to maintain safe practices and procedures.

Ensure company compliance with safety, fire, and other regulations.

Lead and develop a team to oversee company-wide safety and compliance.

Develop training manuals and procedures for safe work practices.

Manage employee relations initiatives and company events.

Qualifications:

Significant experience in Human Resources and Health & Safety management.

Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in developing and implementing HR and safety programs.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
