Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position administers all health programs, assists in all aspects of health, safety and environment. It also provides support for a range of human resources programs and services including but not limited to: benefits, training, payroll.


DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES

•KEY RESPONSABILITIES •

• Coach and counsel location leaders to assist them in the execution of their EHS accountabilities.
• Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
• Develop and execute strategic and tactical EHS plans to drive fatality and serious injury prevention, increase risk recognition and reduce injuries-incidents, improve employee health and environmental compliance and protection.
• Ensures site compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations.
• Acts as location representative to key internal and external regulations.
• Administers plant's health programs (including but not limited to, hearing conservation, health hazard controls, heat stress, ergonomics, respiratory protection coordination of occupational medical services)
• Follows-up on all employees' injuries and illnesses.
• Administers and maintains EHS website.
• Provides EHS incident monthly statistics.
• Maintains Safety Data Sheet & chemical database
• Maintains industrial hygiene sampling database, including data entry and generating employee exposure letters.
• Conducts audits on shop floor on various EHS aspects.
• Provides support to the EHS Single Point Accountable resources.
• Learns and administers company EHS rules and regulations.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
Follows all safety, health and environmental rules.


HUMAN RESOURCES

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

• Provides support to Human Resources advisors on various aspects (including but not limited to, payroll, HR database, benefits).
• Provides various information to employees


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.
• Knowledge of applicable Provincial and federal related regulations.
• Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills.
• Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data.
• Critical skills include: Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, developing others, establishing direction, drive for change, getting organization support and tenacity.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Bachelor or collegial degree in health and safety or relevant experience
Industrial manufacturing experience


PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION



• None required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



• Minimum 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
