As a Human Resources (HR) Consultant with Organizational Development you will provide expertise in organizational change to facilitate the successful execution of business change initiatives and/or large organizational or department-wide transformational change projects. Supporting the Climate and Environment business unit within Planning and Development Services, you will work collaboratively with multiple teams and individuals to coordinate the organizational development services required and to ensure the client’s needs are met and aligned with other initiatives taking place within the client’s area or across the organization. Primary duties include:


  • Align change support provided to clients with organizational culture and leadership development.

  • Provide expertise and support to leaders on organizational change initiatives so they can confidently navigate required changes to achieve their business results.

  • Develop collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders such as HR Business Partners, business leaders, project leaders and other centres of excellence within HR.

  • Coordinate, manage and/or build the people plan for the change initiative/project and ensure the specific change components of the plan are aligned with and integrated into the overall project work-plan.

  • Ensure effective team functioning by providing leadership coaching and change leadership/management support for initiatives or be able to identify the need and ensure this is resourced appropriately.

  • Align measurement of outcomes with the Results Based Accountability approach used at The City.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of organizational development practices, approaches and tools used at The City by sharing learning and reviewing and updating documents.

  • Undertake tactical change work related to the change initiatives.



Qualifications
  • A degree combined with at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Organizational Development and Change Management approaches and practices.
  • Proven track record of quickly establishing credibility and trust with clients.
  • High level of business and political acumen and expertise, with a demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to organizational/ business concerns.
  • Systems thinking approach able to deliver integrated practical/tactical solutions within tight timelines.
  • Focus on outcomes with a consultative approach using a growth mindset.
  • Project management skillset or a willingness to learn.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Position Type: Temporary (up to 18 months)
Location: 800 Macleod Trail
Compensation: Level E $79,059 - 119,373 per annum (New Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
