Job Description


The Human Resources Business Partner is a trusted HR professional, who is the first point of contact for HR/LR-related matters for their assigned region. They partner with managers to deliver the Kal Tire team member & customer experience through proactive, impactful & practical HR advice. Reporting to the Manager, HR, the Human Resources Business Partner is a change agent who works closely with the business division, support functions and their fellow HR Shared Services Team members to deliver scalable solutions as part of the HR Strategy and Plan.Core Responsibilities

  • Supports and assesses the short and long-term business needs of the portfolio and provides generalist HR advice to the operation managers that aligns with business needs.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to operation managers and team members on a wide range of human resources and labour relation areas including workplace conflicts, performance, attendance, compensation, engagement surveys, organizational change, mobility, health & safety, disability, discipline and separation.
  • Advises and assists operation managers on interpretation and administration of Kal Tire guidelines, policies, processes and collective agreements.
  • Responsible for investigating and addressing sensitive and complex HR issues independently and providing creative problem-solving solutions.
  • Works with operation managers to support workforce planning for their region.
  • Collaborates with the talent acquisition team on all recruitment related matters and handles onboarding activities of new hires.
  • Works closely with payroll, accounting, total rewards, L&D and legal teams.
  • Maintains HR compliance in averaging agreements and permits in the assigned region.
  • Supports the creation and implementation of individual development plans for site managers and non-management team members.
  • Partners with operation managers and HR team members to find opportunities for continuous improvement in HR programs, policies and processes.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to assist in the development of solutions and/or programs.
  • Communicates, facilitates, and/or presents HR programs and initiatives in the assigned region and keeps a close eye on its effectiveness.
  • Actively participates in HR projects and delivers results within given timelines.
  • Leads with data and analytics to drive business insights and help inform decision making.
  • Provides input and support to the HR Manager in key HR activities and projects.
Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years\' human resources generalist/advisor experience with a focus on labor relations and program development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven skills in conflict resolution, including coaching, facilitation, mediation, and relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, (written and oral). Great listening skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable HR legislation and regulations within the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and all other applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements, resolve union grievances and facilitate discussions.
  • Proven experience in developing, supporting, and implementing HR programs, policies, and processes.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to identify and recommend creative solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS office and HRIS software.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and translate to meaningful action.
  • Ability to travel occasionally up to 20%.
Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree preferably in Business Administration specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent
