WHAT YOU WILL DO

The HR Business Partner provides support to leaders, while supporting the administration of HR policies and programs in the following functional areas: employee/labour relations, hourly staffing and employee orientation, leave administration, attendance management and performance management.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide day to day HR support in functional HR areas to the organization
  • Addressing employee questions/requests and complaints
  • Supporting various departments with attendance management or other personnel issues
  • Providing HR support as part of the hourly orientation process
  • Assist with labour relations issues including contract interpretation, hourly employee performance issues and disciplinary investigations
  • Participate in projects, conflict resolution processes, recruitment and retention initiatives, layoffs, discipline, and termination processes
  • Participate in various joint committees such as the Standing Committee and Job Evaluation Committee
  • Serve as a source for legal and employment issues; ensuring compliance with federal, and local employment laws
  • Support policy development/updates, interpretation of collective agreements and development of HR solutions
  • Provide additional support to various HR tasks and projects
Job Requirements:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Bachelor\'s Degree, preferably in Human Resources or other related field
  • 4 years\' experience of related Human Resources Experience in a unionized manufacturing facility, ideally within the pulp and paper industry
  • Experience working in HRIS Systems, JD Edwards, Kronos preferred
  • Knowledge of provincial employment laws
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • A CPHR or CPHR designation is considered an asset
