Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
to champion HR support across our retail liquor operations. In this hybrid role, you will act as a trusted advisor to store and operational leaders, drive key people initiatives, and take a lead role in investigations, coaching, policy implementation, and change enablement.
About the Role
As a Human Resources Business Partner at SNDL, you'll play a critical role in supporting our liquor retail operations across Alberta. This hybrid position combines strategic advisory work from our Edmonton office with hands-on support in the field. You'll work closely with store managers, operations leaders, and executives to resolve employee relations matters, coach leadership teams, ensure legal compliance, and champion key HR initiatives.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced HR professional who thrives in fast-paced, people-driven environments. You'll be empowered to influence decisions, lead change, and shape the employee experience -- all while helping SNDL build a high-performance, values-aligned culture in one of Canada's most dynamic retail sectors.
What You'll Do
Serve as the main HR contact for a portfolio of liquor stores and retail leaders
Lead investigations, conflict resolution, and coach on performance issues
Support manager development, employee engagement, and policy training
Ensure compliance with provincial employment legislation
Lead HR projects and help modernize HR delivery through AI and automation
Partner with OH&S, Payroll, and Legal on return-to-work and accommodations
Travel regularly to stores to provide in-person HR support
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
5+ years in HR, with strong generalist and employee relations experience
Solid knowledge of provincial employment legislation in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan
Experience with investigations, coaching, and policy development
Excellent communication, public speaking, and stakeholder influence skills
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
CPHR designation is an asset
