In this role, you would provide first-level consultative services and support to the organization's various business units. You would be responsible for the implementation and execution at every stage of the employee life cycle and HR programs, including workforce planning, performance management, talent management, succession planning, compensation cycle, employee/labour relations and organizational change. What will you be doing!




HR Management Support Coaching, supporting and challenging the norm alongside the business leaders. Understanding the business and the mission's strategy and bringing HR expertise to support those goals. Adapting and executing best practices at every stage of the employee life cycle to enable a high-performing workforce contributing to the organization's strategic growth. Understanding, communicating, and following up on employee engagement, providing consultative expertise and proactive advice to management on organizational and HR matters. HR Team Management Supporting and overseeing the daily direction of the HR Generalist, where applicable (play key mentorship role to less experienced team members). Working with the HR Service Delivery team to ensure they can address employee inquiries regarding company programs, benefits and services, payroll inquiries, etc. Training and aiding others in human resources as required, such as interpreting policies and executive programs in the employee life cycle and navigating through systems (e.g., Oracle, ATOM, etc.). Workforce Planning & Recruitment & Selection Providing strategic workforce planning support. Working with the business line and Talent team to define (new) role requirements, advising on existing requirements, and approving job descriptions. Assisting the Talent team in creating the recruitment & selection strategy for roles within their line. Interviewing alongside hiring managers, as required. Facilitating the movement of people talent within the organization based on operational changes and needs. Talent Management Supporting managers and employees with performance management by providing counsel, feedback and advice. Facilitating training and guiding managers and employees on various talent management programs, including the annual performance management cycle, succession planning, individual development plans, talent reviews (i.e. 9-box) and performance improvement plans. Labour Relations & Employee Relations Providing human resources policy information and interpretations to collective agreements/, legislation, and company policies & procedures. Working closely with applicable business lines to facilitate Organizational Change Controls that may result in promotions, demotions, transfers, relocations, retirements, and terminations professionally. Ensuring a balance between organizational and employee needs. Being the first point of contact for managers and employees in effective situation/conflict management, working closely with managers to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and promptly, and minimizing business risks. Being the advisor or coach for difficult situations on how to resolve the situation. Receiving, reviewing and leading the first step of the grievance process. Data Analytics & Administration Supporting the development, reviewing for accuracy and analyzing the HR dashboards to making data driven decisions and recommendations to the business line. Participating in internal or external audits, including auditing regularly, to ensure the accuracy of information in the HR system. Navigating through the HR system effectively to provide timely support to managers/employees or other areas of HR when facts need to be established. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:




Education Degree or diploma from a college or university program in the field of Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An HR certification is an asset. A CHRP or CHRL Designation would be an asset. Experience 7-10 years of related Human Resources work experience or the equivalent in education and experience. Experienced level knowledge across human resources management disciplines, including but not limited to employee relations, talent management, performance management, organizational development, succession planning, total rewards, HR systems and recruitment. Experience in a fast-paced changing environment managing conflicting priorities. Experience working in a unionized environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated team leadership skills where success was achieved through influence techniques and the capability to 'influence without authority'. Strong business acumen, understanding of the business, and ability to articulate the business vision to align with the employee life cycle. Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts and provide rational and objective resolutions. Forward thinker with the ability to anticipate and provide proactive insights and solutions. Advanced relationship management abilities with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with individuals at all position levels. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Outstanding organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities, including advanced facilitation skills. Ability to establish priorities, define action plans, and monitor performance. Highly self-motivated and a team player. Comfortable performing duties based on broad general direction and minimal oversight, and willing to work cooperatively with others. Strong organizational and advisory skills. Strong working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and other regulatory legislation. Familiarity with highly unionized environments and the ability to read and interpret collective agreements. Strong Knowledge of HRMS transactions and administration, and how they impact various systems. Ability to develop a working level knowledge of CNL's Human Resources policies and procedures, collective agreements and legislation (i.e. Pay Equity, etc.) Ability to manage and lead projects, including setting up project plans, implementing change management plans and managing resources for project completion. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a

minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom
