Pinchin is looking for a talented HR Advisor to join our dynamic People & Culture team! As an Advisor, you will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, assisting People & Culture with daily operations and initiatives while also providing support and guidance to employees and managers as required. Although this role is assigned to our Head Office in Mississauga, there will be the flexibility to work remotely provided the successful candidate can visit Head Office approximately once per month.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, HR Advisors perform duties in collaboration with the Manager and as a member of the People & Culture team, assisting with the development and execution of corporate initiatives led by People & Culture.

The HR Advisor will be assigned to one of Pinchin\xe2\x80\x99s regions, as we have offices coast-to-coast across Canada.

A day in the life of an HR Advisor:

  • Uses knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices to develop, implement and modify HR policies, programs, and procedures
  • Provides consistent advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures
  • Resolves employee conflicts or issues in a timely and appropriate manner, escalating to the HR Manager when appropriate
  • Works directly with managers on employee performance management including annual performance reviews, development plans, disciplinary letters, and performance improvement plans as well as staffing plans and employee development initiatives
  • Facilitates proper employee documentation and accurate records in HRIS system (ADP)
  • Compiles reports to analyze data for key HR metrics and related projects
  • Supports the HR Manager in developing and implementing talent management programs and special projects
  • Conducts investigations relating to HR policy including health & safety and other workplace incidents
  • Facilitates employee offboarding, including performing exit interviews, and terminations, preparing separation documents, and managing departure logistics/administration with Finance and IT
What you bring to the team:
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, a CHRP/CPHR designation (active) preferred or in progress
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources operations and employee relations
  • Motivated to work independently as well as on team projects and initiatives
  • Experience working with an HRIS (preferably ADP)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound reasoning, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, creative, process-oriented, demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in professional services or consulting is preferred
  • Current and valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with insurance, and access to a vehicle required (work-related travel will be compensated)
