The HR Advisor is a trusted business partner on all HR matters. With a seat at the table with your Edmonton Management team clients, the successful candidate must be driven to learn and develop a deep understanding of CDC\xe2\x80\x99s clinical operations. The HR Advisor must be self-motivated to cultivate relationships with employees and leaders, and engage with colleagues across the organization, in-person or virtually! The incumbent will join a team of talented HR Advisors who provide proactive and practical HR guidance and ensure that HR strategies are aligned with corporate culture and initiatives. The Advisor team focuses on effective resolution of employee relations, talent management, and performance matters. Note:

What the role entails:
  • Establish strong relationships by delivering quality and timely service to staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide strategic HR support to CDC leaders in the areas of employee relations and engagement; talent development; conflict resolution, mediation and team building; discipline and performance management; ensuring that HR practices are consistent and comply with legislation, strategic direction, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with operational leaders to strategically maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Full cycle recruitment, including coordination of new hires, first-day onboarding, and new hire paperwork.
  • Responsible for disability case management in partnership with third-party provider, including return to work planning and execution.
  • Conduct workplace investigations as required.
  • Assist in the planning, creation, and implementation of Human Resources policies and practices, programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Initiate employee experience projects that engage employees and prospective candidates.
  • Utilize data and analysis to identify and assess trends, proactively diagnosing areas of need, and improving workforce performance.
  • Assess sensitive and complex situations, advising in the progression of such cases and escalate concerns in relation to business risk to senior management as required.
  • Research industry best practices and provide solutions; proactively identify and address issues impacting engagement and retention throughout the employee life cycle.
  • HR Administration Management: employee filing and data entry, performance evaluations, payroll changes, and maintaining trackers and organizational charts.
What you bring to CDC:
  • Minimum of four (4) years\' generalist/advisory human resources experience.
  • CPHR is preferred but is not required.
  • Degree/diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of related work experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
  • Experience in healthcare or related environment is preferred.
  • Competent in developing creative and deliberate solutions to challenges.
  • Tech-savvy, analytical, and able to pick up systems and processes quickly.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 is an asset.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and finish all assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Must work well independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Regular local travel is required; vehicle is needed.
