Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley (CLUOV) supports local adults with intellectual disabilities by providing assistance with employment opportunities, housing (including independent living), respite care and personal support with day-to-day activities. Our vision is to assist in building an inclusive community, where individuals with intellectual disabilities are included in community life. The people we support are between the ages of 18 and 70.
We are currently recruiting for an "HR Admin Assistant". This is a Part-time position 30-45hrs bi-weekly.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Duties:
Assists with recruitment by preparing postings, scheduling interviews, preparing interview packages, performing pre-screening and reference checks of applicants, and preparing hiring packages.
Assisting with job fairs, and recruitment initiatives, to promote employment vacancies within the organization.
Maintains employee files and records
Tracks online training and organizes training sessions such as First Aid and NCI
Tracks completion of training, maintaining databases, and personnel file records and communicates progress as required
Provides clerical support, and prepares confidential documents as required.
Reviews and processes payroll in accordance with agency pay schedule.
Tracks data, related to benefits, recruitment, leaves etc. to assist with HR metrics and organizational reporting.
Qualifications
A business diploma or degree in Human Resources, accounting, commerce, or business administration. A combination of experience and education would be considered
Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services reporting or experience working with non-profit organizations is preferable.
Familiarity with and the ability to interpret and apply the Ontario Employment Standards Act, workplace health and safety legislation, Ontario Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Board decisions and any other relevant legislation.
Experience with unions and collective agreements.
Solid organization skills and ability to manage time and deadlines
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in compiling, validating and analyzing data
Able to modify and extract reports from raw data using MS Excel
Able to provide sound judgment and exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion while working with sensitive and private information
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with both internal and external audiences
Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite; and Microsoft Excel
Experience working with ComVida or other HRIS is an asset.
