Job Purpose & Responsibilities


This is a permanent, full-time position with the Corporate Services Department.




Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for:

Completing internal and external recruitment tasks such as: Creating internal and external job postings, collecting and processing new candidate applications Assisting with interview scheduling, facilitation, and creation of interview packages Submitting reference checks Offer creation and distribution Updating applicant tracking systems and spreadsheets Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and assist with new employee onboarding Maintain employee file system Create swipe access cards for employees and contractors Update City-wide documents such as phone directory, organizational charts Process name tag and business card order requests Interpret and monitor the collective agreement rules and regulations regarding policies and issues Identify potential gaps in current HR policies and procedures Research related to collective agreements, legislation, and other projects as required
Qualifications & Competencies


Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Municipality or Government setting Knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code Strong computer and organizational skills Ability to present to small and large groups Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines Valid class 5 driver's license Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

This position is Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for 35 hours per week.
