Human Resource Generalist

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to become a key part of our team. This role is ideal for a Human Resources professional who enjoys working across a broad range of HR functions. The successful candidate will be a trusted leader to employees and leadership, contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:



Recruitment & Staffing



Create and post job descriptions across relevant platforms. Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including screening, interviewing, and coordination with hiring managers. Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.

Employee Relations and Engagement



Service as a point of contact for employee concerns, issues, and conflict resolution. Mediate and manage workplace concerns/disputes in a respectful, inclusive work environment. Conduct Employee Satisfaction forms and Exit Interviews to assess employee satisfactions and retention trends. Plan and implement employee engagement and recognition initiatives. Promote a positive organizational culture through proactive communication and events.

Compensation & Benefits



Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Administer employer benefits programs. Manage benefits enrollment and related employee communication.

Policy, Compliance & Administration



Draft, update, and implement HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with ESA, Human Rights Code, WorkSafeBC, and all other legislations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and contracts. Manage WorkSafeBC claims and return-to-work processes.

HR Metrics and Reporting



Prepare regular reports on HR KPI's including turnover, absenteeism, and training metrics. Analyze HR data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Provide date-driven insights to support workforce planning and decision-making.

Strategic & Leadership Support



Advise managers and leadership on best HR practices and legal compliance. Support organizational changes.

Qualifications



A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (preferred). CPHR designation or working towards certification (asset). Strong working knowledge of HR practices, employment standards, etc. Experience in Payroll (preferred). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Strong analytical and organizations skills with a high attention to detail.
