In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resource Generalist works with staff and managers to proactively provide support, advice and guidance to meet their employment-related needs. The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for administering the recruitment, onboarding, and agency orientation programs. This role is responsible for providing HR administrative support, ensuring human resources information system (HRIS) data integrity and for supporting the employee life cycle through the administration of group benefits, RRSP program and the Employee Assistance Program. This position will uphold the Agency's mission, vision and values and build collaborative relationships across the system, including championing the development of an organization that values an inclusive culture where all staff can leverage their strengths.

A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the primary contact for staff, addressing questions and concerns relating to the interpretation and implementation of HR policies, procedures and entitlements.
Works collaboratively with hiring managers to effectively and efficiently recruit and on-board new hires.
Develops recruitment strategies for vacant positions within the organization.
Prepares employment letters and contracts following the Agency approval process.
Ensures maintenance of Human Resource files.
Carries out initiatives and projects identified in the strategic plan
Act as backup to the Director of Human Resources in their absence.
Supports the management team through consultation pertaining to HR policies, procedures and legislation.
Provides planning, coordination and management for the utilization of the HRIS system for all staff within the agency.
Educates all staff on the use of the HRIS system, including providing system updates.
Administers group benefits and RRSP plans, including enrolments, terminations and escalations.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Completion of a post-secondary diploma in a related discipline.
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
Human Resources Professional Association designation (CHRP) in good standing or equivalent is an asset.
Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
Experience talent acquisition, benefit and pension administration, performance management, conflict resolution, risk management protocols and HR best practices.
Effective priority setting and decision-making skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and accommodate competing demands.
Experience in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies, processes, trends and innovation.
Exhibits initiative, critical thinking, professional judgement, innovation, and solution focused problem-solving skills.
Possess experience with HRIS software and cloud-based applications (e.g., ADP Workforce Now).
Functional technological skills
Awareness and appreciation for the dynamics of equity issues (diversity, equity and inclusion) especially as it relates to gender, ethnicity, race, and economic status.
