Job Description



Reporting to the Human Capital Director based in London, this role will advise and partner with leaders across NMG Consulting, concentrating on key areas of growth in North America (Canada and the United States).

Summary Statement


This position will be focused on supporting the attraction, engagement and development of our people in this region, including post M&A change management. You will also manage global programs such as the NMG Consulting Graduate program, leadership and talent development programs. This position will contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the Human Capital proposition and engage with the broader team to drive best practice across the NMG Group. This position will suit an individual with strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to liaise with a diverse group of people, including Partners and those in senior leadership positions. You will be required to represent NMG appropriately and professionally to external parties and potential candidates, in addition to building strong internal relationships, working across multiple geographies, time zones and in a matrixed work environment. Being part of the Human Capital team, you will also need to reflect the NMG Values (Collaboration, Curiosity, Go for it! and Make it Count); identify these qualities in potential recruits and represent them through ongoing HR projects and activities across the organisation. This role will require occasional travel (5-10%) to the United States.

Key Responsibilities


  • Talent Acquisition - partner with the business heads to understand talent acquisition needs and provide guidance and advice on market trends, including benchmarking salaries and building strong recruiter relationships. Work closely with the Human Capital Coordinator based in London to manage the tactical elements of the recruitment process including psychometric testing and the development of recruitment pipelines. Support the marketing of the NMG employee brand and value proposition.
  • Organisational development - actively promote participation in the annual engagement surveys and support analysis of results and resulting actions across the broader business. Support the talent review process, 360 feedback review process and manage succession planning strategies. Contribute to the overarching compensation and benefits strategy and assist with implementation throughout the business. Work with leads of the Programming and Operations teams to drive technological transformation across the business. Coordinate targeted leadership development programs across the region.
  • Graduate Program - oversee the North American Graduate Program, working alongside the Human Capital Coordinator to manage graduate attraction and recruitment activities. Host quarterly meetings with Business heads and ensure regular liaison with local mentors regarding ongoing development, graduate placements and rotations. Ensure ongoing evolution of the program in conjunction with Human Capital Director to ensure it is meeting the needs of the business.
  • Learning and Development - liaise with senior leaders to understand training needs within the team, ensuring alignment with broader group objectives. Research training opportunities and coordinate development with a view to both internal and external training options.
  • Performance Management - coordinate bi-annual performance reviews. Advise and assist line managers with staff performance issues within their team. Support and augment a culture of robust performance conversations and high-performance outcomes across the region. Employee Relations - assist with grievances and disciplinary procedures as required. Ensure company policies are region-appropriate and adhered to throughout the business. Liaise with the NMG Group Legal Counsel as required to ensure employment legislation is complied with across all regions.




Competencies, Qualifications & Experience


  • University qualification in HR or a related discipline with 5+ years of HR experience within professional services (ideally 2+ years in a business partnering capacity)
  • Knowledge of the Consulting / Financial Services industries (preferred, not essential)
  • Experience working in a global business and working remotely with other offices. Experience supporting Canadian (essential) and American (preferred, not essential) teams. Local nuanced knowledge of employee benefits and employment legislation
  • Strong candidate management abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving abilities and creativity. High attention to detail and a structured approach
