Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day operations of the Human Capital (HC) department functions and duties
Lead and assist with international and domestic recruiting activities (creation of job postings, screening interviews, reference checks, liaise with position supervisor/managers, etc.)
Support managers in administration/scheduling of regularly occurring HC processes
Work closely with managers sharing best practices to improve employee engagement, build morale, increase productivity, and retention
Facilitating new hire orientation and on-boarding requirements
Support the employee and leadership interpretation of policies and procedures
Provide guidance on workforce and succession planning
Participate in HC and organizational meetings and committees
Attend career events and participate in presentations
General administration such as data entry, document preparation and distribution, legislative research, etc.
Build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and outside partners
Participate in ongoing training/education to improve knowledge/skills
Requirements
Diploma or degree in a Human Resources or relate field (business, commerce, HR, etc.), combination of education/experience may be considered
5+ years of experience in a Human Resources related environment
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Employment Standards Act and relevant legislation
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams and/or individuals
Strong attention to detail, organizational
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be professional and be able to exercise discretion and judgement when handling confidential/sensitive information
Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications, working knowledge of Dayforce an asset
Valid driver's license, and a willingness to be flexible with hours and travel as needed
