Opportunity MacEwan University is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment student to join our Office of Health, Safety & Environment as an HSE Technician on a casual basis. The successful incumbent will aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the University’s HSE Management System and support the development of various health safety program elements and associated training and orientation programs. You may also support various worksite inspections, audits, and complete reviews and quality checks of hazard assessments and safe work procedures. This position will also work with the entire Health, Safety & Environment Team to provide support as required. SKILLS The successful candidate with have experience in:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of institutional and department-specific HSE Programs
  • Assist in the design and developing of HSE training and e-learning modules
  • Assist in conducting worksite inspections and audits
  • Assist in the development and review of hazard assessments and audit findings
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Enrolled in or have recently completed a diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Experience in the development OHS training and orientation programs.
  • Experience in conduction worksite audits or inspections.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety, and environmental management system standards (i.e. COR, ISO) and applicable OHS and Environmental legislation.
  • Equivalences may be considered.
