The Role

As an experienced member of our HRIS team, the role plays a key role in guiding the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our core HR system, Workday. You\xe2\x80\x99ll help define the long-term (next 12-18 months) and near-term (next quarter) Workday HCM roadmap by consulting with HR stakeholders to understand needs and priorities, representing what\xe2\x80\x99s possible within the constraints of Workday capabilities, and ultimately designing solutions and translating those solutions to requirements and plans for implementation. Also, this role needs to serve as a function expert level within our HRIS Team. As a key member of the team, you will support Workday team members and Workday end users by understanding business needs, triaging escalated employee HRIS issues and questions, and providing expert-level user support to the HRIS support team. The role also plays a key role as function lead for HR data governance, including data structure modeling and definitions, data permissions and security access, data processing and auditing, data reporting and analytics, etc. This role is based in Toronto, reporting to the Global HRIS Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary subject matter expert for Workday to optimize system design, understanding and interpreting end user needs to translate into system requirements, creating and managing documentation used for end user adoption and training.
  • Design and prototype solutions, present options, and lead design workshops as needed.
  • Participate in key projects as both business and Workday functional expert, coordinating with stakeholders as well as the technical implementation team on project implementation, testing and go-live.
  • Lead the Workday effort in support of annual HR programs such as performance management, promotions, compensation, and open enrollment, including requirements gathering and documentation, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Support development and management of the HRIS roadmap, including maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across HR and the business.
  • Research and resolve HRIS issues, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; and recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
  • Stay updated on current HR/Workday system trends and process best practices. Maintain visibility on Workday Community and local User Groups to keep abreast of new features, product defects, and advocate for desired enhancement.
  • Provide mentorship/guidance to other members of our HRIS team.
  • Lead the definition, structuring, and architecting of HR data and related business processes, including data security and permissions.
  • Support the development and management of data auditing processes.
  • Support the development and management of reporting library, driving best practices to better utilize HR data.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or its equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of Workday-specific HRIS experience, global experience is a plus (Americas/APAC/EMEA).
  • Strong implementation and administration knowledge and experience for Workday core HCM, Core Compensation/Advance Compensation, Report & Analytics.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Total Rewards functionality, experience with Total Rewards function is a plus.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, data-driven, and analytical skills.
  • Process-oriented and experience with process improvement initiatives (LEAN a plus).
  • Good project management skills/experience.
  • Familiarity with the agile development process.
  • Highly organized but adaptable to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to uphold the highest regard for confidentiality.
