Overview



Stay At Home Nursing is a community-based healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional in-home nursing, personal support, and wellness services. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays an integral role in supporting our diverse, multidisciplinary workforce and ensuring that HR practices align with the highly specialized and regulated nature of homecare. This role demands a unique combination of strategic HR capability, healthcare-sector understanding, and advanced interpersonal skills to effectively support staff working in decentralized, client-home environments.

Role Purpose



The HRBP functions as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, offering expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, recruitment, credential verification, regulatory documentation, learning management, and succession planning. The position requires impeccable judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive and complex human resource matters while upholding the organization's standards of safety, professionalism, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities



Employee Relations & Advanced Conflict Resolution



The HRBP provides guidance on a wide range of employee matters, including performance concerns, conduct issues, and workplace expectations. The role requires skill in de-escalation, mediation, and facilitating difficult conversations with fairness and neutrality. The HRBP ensures that employee relations practices are consistent, well-documented, and aligned with healthcare standards and organizational policies.

Specialized Recruitment & Credential Verification



The HRBP leads recruitment efforts for both regulated and unregulated healthcare roles, requiring strong familiarity with sector-specific competencies, professional conduct expectations, and credentialing standards. Responsibilities include candidate sourcing, structured screening, verification of certifications and training, and coordinating sector-appropriate onboarding. Ensuring that new hires are adequately prepared for independent work in client homes is a key aspect of this role.

HR Operations, Compliance & Documentation Integrity



The HRBP maintains detailed and accurate employee records, including certifications, immunization documentation, mandatory training logs, policy acknowledgements, and compliance-related materials. Given the regulatory scrutiny in homecare, this responsibility requires exceptional precision, confidentiality, and a thorough understanding of healthcare documentation requirements.

Learning Management & Capability Development



The HRBP supports ongoing employee development by coordinating and overseeing learning management activities. This includes monitoring completion of mandatory training, ensuring competency requirements are met, and administering learning pathways through platforms such as Surge Learning. The role contributes to building a high-performing workforce through skill development, upskilling initiatives, and continuous improvement of learning practices.

Succession Planning & Workforce Continuity



The HRBP collaborates with leadership to identify emerging talent, assess future leadership potential, and support the development of long-term workforce planning strategies. This includes assisting in capability mapping, documenting development needs, and helping build a pipeline of skilled staff to support organizational continuity and future growth.

Data, Reporting & HR Systems Administration



The HRBP oversees updates to HR systems, ensures accuracy in all HRIS records, and prepares reports related to compliance, credential expiries, employee relations trends, learning completion, and workforce insights. Strong data reliability is essential to support informed decision-making and ensure service quality across the organization. Experience using ADP Workforce Now is considered an asset.

Specialized Skills & Assets




The HRBP candidate should have experience or transferrable skills in the following areas:

Experience supporting regulated healthcare professionals (RNs, RPNs) and community-based care providers (PSWs) is an asset Strong competence in conflict resolution, mediation, and handling sensitive interpersonal dynamics Strong understanding of credentialing standards, professional requirements, and homecare compliance documentation is considered an asset Proficiency in learning management coordination, including experience with Surge Learning or similar platforms is considered an asset Knowledge of succession planning frameworks and talent development methodologies Solid ability and skills to manage documentation related to safety, regulatory oversight, and client-home care standards Ability to support a workforce operating independently in diverse environments, including client homes Cultural sensitivity with the ability to support a diverse employee population Ability to leverage excel, power BI, project management and various other platforms with administrative accuracy Demonstrates strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data to support decision making and achieve key HR initiatives Experience with an HRIS system such as ADP Workforce Now or relevant comparator with HR data management ability Experience in homecare or healthcare operations (asset)

Qualifications



Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field Progressive experience in human resources, ideally within healthcare or community services Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, professional relationships across diverse teams High attention to detail, strong organizational capability, and exceptional discretion * Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and complex HR matters with professionalism and sound judgment
