Summary: As a Human Resources Technologist, you will be involved in a wide range of our human resources activities across the company and cover both our Vancouver and Toronto locations. In addition, as a technologist, you will embrace digitalization to enhance all aspects of our existing HR and general corporate function including recruitment, retention, engagement, well being, data metrics, statistics, continuous learning and development and cyber security. What You’ll Do:

  • Support the existing HR team in all stages of the employee life and with an initial focus on the recruitment and onboarding stages;
    • Recruitment process for all positions across Canada – including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checking, and offer negotiating;
    • Ensuring a seamless onboarding and employee experience;
  • Learn and manage our HR software applications including our ATS, employee engagement and performance management tools;
  • Analyze and create reports on HR metrics specifically detailing the effectiveness of current HR programs and processes, and identify and recommend improvements to HR service levels;
  • Participate in various committees, such as social committee and occupational health & safety;
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations, ensuring legal compliance and initiating policy changes/updates where required.
  • Learn various company-wide software applications and act as a champion for maintenance and troubleshooting (including but not limited to sharepoint, attendance, expenses and performance management);
  • Improve existing and or introduce addition technologies to enhance all facets of our HR and office systems;
  • Provide general office IT support and setup including: workstations, computers, printers, phones and other peripheral equipment. Arrange for technical support when required;
  • Work closely with and help manage our external IT provider;
  • Provide coverage to support our executive and other office administration functions; and
  • Work on ad-hoc projects, reporting and other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline (i.e.: Human Resources).
  • Minimum of three years human resources experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Power user of HR and employee related applications;
    • A reputation of being tech savvy across multiple platforms;
    • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, unions, and others.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy, required to handle difficult conversations;
    • Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to details.
    • Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
