Position Description





Dr. Julien\xe2\x80\x99s laboratory at The Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute is looking for a Research Technologist II to assist in executing laboratory experiments in the characterization of antibody-based therapeutics for treatment of infectious diseases. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic scientist with experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and in vitro assay development who can thrive in a highly collaborative research setting. Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Get To Do:
  • Work under the direction of senior staff to execute antibody characterization experiments including but not limited to cell based in vitro experiments (ex: viral neutralization assays), kinetics assays, ELISA\xe2\x80\x99s and flow cytometry.
  • Develop and / or optimize experimental methods to expand in vitro screening capabilities.
  • Grow your knowledge and technical skill set around the use of antibodies for treatment and diagnosis of infectious diseases.
  • Support and collaborate with project team members to meet deliverables and timelines.
  • Interact with internal and external contacts.
  • Provide continuity and be a source of information to ensure long-term project success.
  • Contribute towards the development of guidelines, procedures and standards.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results in written, verbal or graphical form to senior staff and at lab meetings.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:
  • Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Immunology with 2+ years of wet lab experience.
  • Hands on experience in tissue culture, in vitro screening, flow cytometry and / or molecular biology techniques. Experience with protein purification is a plus.
  • Ability to function in a timeline-driven, dynamic environment, and to adapt to new techniques and protocols.
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in collaborative and productive scientific projects.
