This individual will drive & enhance the local HR Operations: Personnel Administration, Payroll, Comp & Benefit analysis, as well as administrating the Employee Lifecycle (from hire to retire). The Talent Ops Advisor supports our employees and managers using internal HR Systems, ensuring that changes are implemented correctly and on time, resulting in seamless employee experience from hire to retire, and in compliance with legal & company regulations
Who you'll work with
As a Talent Operations Advisor, you will be part of an HR team and work closely with employes and colleagues across Canada, providing guidance and support. You will collaborate with various internal colleagues, including local and global Talent Partners, to support organizational changes and implement business decisions. You will also be part of the Global Operations & Reward team, working with global experts to align local implementation of global policies and processes, and sharing best practices with peers in other countries. Additionally, your role will involve managing relationships with external providers to ensure service delivery.
What you'll do
Support our Employees & Managers through UCB's HR platforms:
Answer queries from employees and managers
Inform our employees on legal & process changes
Single point of contact for operational topics
Responsible for Payroll & HR Administration:
Responsible HR administration and collaborate with the UCB payroll team to secure accuracy and timeliness
Employee Onboarding/ Offboarding: Accountable to execute operations of on- to off-boarding of employees.
Ensuring new positions created are in line with budget; execute the hiring administration; initiate recruiting team; set-up new hire in local systems and affiliation to local benefits.
Preparation of offboarding exit package & documentation.
Promotions, Transfers & Off Cycle Increases:
Seeks confirmation for job level and ensures job analyses has been done and approved
Prepare job offers in line with Global Reward guidelines and seek for approval following the Reward Governance.
Ensure the processes are executed in line with the global standards & changes are documented in line with internal & local regulations resulting in excellent master data
Management of the HRIS system (SuccessFactors)/ Organizational Structure:
Implement changes and updates, supporting Talent Partners during reorganization, ensuring data accuracy.
Support the annual workforce cost planning exercise in close collaboration with the Talent Partner.
Compensation & Benefits:
Be an internal expert on local compensation & benefits including completion of annual salary surveys, compensation review processes, and advising on reward policy and levelling framework.
Compliance:
Responsible for keeping up to date and ensuring the affiliate is compliant with local employment legislation; for example ESA requirements, AODA, Joint Health and Safety, etc.
Policy Review, Development & Guidance:
Develop, advise and improve policies from a local and global perspective in collaboration with Talent Partner.
Be true process owner responsible for the performance & continuous improvement and consistency.
Partnership Management:
Manages the relationship with local providers (payroll, benefits, ..., etc.)
Drives governance with focus on improving service & collaboration
Responsible for set-up of new partners/initiatives upon business needs

Required Qualifications:
Completed Bachelors Degree (BCom, BBA preferred)
5+ years of HR/ Talent Operations experience including in-depth knowledge of local HR processes and labor law
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong customer service focus, with attention to detail and quality and able to see the big picture and connect the dots
IT savvy: easy understanding and use of IT tools & systems and Analytical mindset
Process improvement methodologies and project management experience are a plus
Experience working in a global matrix-style environment is a plus
Excellent English verbal and written communication; bi-lingual in French is a highly recommended
