APM MacLean key sectors include design build, construction management, general contracting of all commercial, multi-rental, institutional, and industrial properties from conception, to design to completion. APM MacLean would like to invite qualified, enthusiastic individuals to apply for the following career opportunity: HR Manager. PURPOSE: The Human Resources Manager main purpose is to plan, direct and coordinate the HR functions of the organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning and serve as a link between the organization\xe2\x80\x99s management and its employees. REPORTS TO: This position reports to Senior Management. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with employee development, engagement, motivation.
  • Implement streams of communication from employees, through to management
  • Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures. Recommended systems and processes for improvement and growth.
  • Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health benefits, expenses, vacation and other personnel packages.
  • Manage recruitment efforts and new employee selection processes.
  • Ensure workplace compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR provincial and federal requirements.
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale.
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support departments in the development and delivery of strategic HR plans to fit with the overall business direction.
  • Plan, monitor and appraise HR activities by scheduling management meetings with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, training managers to coach and discipline employees, and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision.
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resources policies and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with all management, fostering trust and promoting collaboration.
  • Maintains employee benefit programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends, recommending benefit programs to management.
  • Maintains historical human resources records by designing a filing and retrieval system, keeping past and current records.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Oversee and mange performance appraisal system that drives high performance
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in human resources.
  • 5+ years in hr and recruitment.
  • Experience with various HR metrics, HR systems and databases.
  • Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, writing skills and ethical mindset.
  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR Policies and systems.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • People oriented and results drive.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices.
  • Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office.
