We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist /HRBP interested in joining our growing industry-leading team in Vaughan, ON. Reporting to our Leadership Development Director, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for aligning business objectives with the HR strategy for employees and leadership in Canada. Our team of almost 80 professionals, including engineers, architects, scientists, technologists and project managers are dispersed across Canada, from British Columbia to Prince Edward Island. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to maintain HR strategies, procedures, and programs that are linked to business strategies in accordance with corporate guidelines. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be instrumental in maintaining a positive employee relations environment to ensure satisfied and highly productive employees.

Key activities and responsibilities include:

  • Provides guidance and input on Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s people strategy to include but not limited to, workforce planning, performance management, talent engagement and employee relations issues.
  • Is a Change Agent and trusted advisor to Business Unit leaders, providing guidance to ensure effective implementation of transformational initiatives and the impact of business decisions and change initiatives.
  • Facilitates effective implementation of new people management initiatives and trainings in different areas and levels of the business as appropriate.
  • Leads Employee Development Process, including but not limited to, setting personal goals, measuring results, assessing performance, identifying training requirements, and building individual development plans.
  • Drive Diversity & Inclusion through career mapping, talent development and recommendations of talent for growth opportunities.
  • Works closely with managers and when required with Talent Acquisition to execute recruitment, selection, and interview strategies for personnel.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and drive retention.
  • Provide oversite and guidance on payroll execution and matters.
  • Provide guidance and advisement regarding Provincial requirements.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed /required.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Human Resources, Management, or related field.
  • Around 5 years of experience working as an HR Generalist or related HR role in a large dynamic environment. Engineering /architectural consulting industry experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting a dispersed workforce across multiple locations and functions.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies. Knowledge of various Provincial labor laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications, including: Microsoft Office Suite and prior HRIS experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. French language proficiency an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, capable decision-maker with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven capabilities in people strategy, understanding workforce requirements, identifying capabilities, proactively developing and implementing plans to achieve necessary outcomes.
  • Highly motivated team player able to work at a fast pace.
