POSITION OVERVIEW
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, policy administration, training, and compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the consistent application of company policies and programs, while supporting a positive workplace culture and maintaining compliance with labor and employment laws.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
University or Collage degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field is required.
CHRP designation, or working towards is considered an asset
3-5 years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR functions
Demonstrated experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and policy administration
Familiarity with H&S requirements and experience supporting compliance with the Ontario ESA and OHSA
Proficiency with HRIS systems - ability to analyze HR data and metrics
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, build positive relationships, and handle sensitive conversations
Committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace that values employee well-being
Proactive in keeping up to date with evolving HR trends, technologies and legislative requirements
Able to provide guidance, coaching and support to supervisors and employees
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, questions, and issues, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and reference checks.
Draft and issue employment agreements for new hires or internal transfers and communicate updates to team.
Initiate and oversee the onboarding and orientation process to ensure smooth integration of new employees.
Prepare and issue employee correspondence, including letters of employment, reference letters, warnings, suspensions, and termination notices.
Support supervisors in managing probationary reviews and performance concerns.
Provide administrative support to HR Manager, including filing, scanning, and document management.
Plan and execute regular employee events to promote engagement
Ensure all employees receive required training and that records are tracked, updated, and maintained.
Coordinate probationary and performance evaluation processes with supervisors, ensuring timely completion
Support supervisors in addressing probationary period concerns and facilitating improvement plans.
Support in developing and maintain training materials, manuals, and verification documents
Develop and maintain successful working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization.
