Gastops' products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture, and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including online oil debris sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and portable oil debris analysis systems.
We are seeking a proactive and expereience HR Generalist with 7-10 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with other members of the People & Pay team, leadership and employees to support day-to-day HR functions, drive employee engagement, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and support the business in achieving operational excellence.
This is a hands-on role that requires a balance of strategic HR partnership and strong executional capability in a dynamic setting. The role is primarily onsite with some work from home flexibility as needed. The successful candidate will be comfortable working both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
What You'll Do:
Serve as a trusted HR advisor to frontline managers, supporting workforce planning, talent development, and team effectiveness.
Manage employee relations, investigate and resolve workplace issues in a fair and timely manner, and ensure alignment with company values and policies.
Support recruitment and onboarding of hourly and salaried employees.
Facilitate performance management, coaching, and development conversations to help leaders and employees grow and succeed.
Ensure timely enrolment of corporate trainings and maintain monthly reporting to management.
Support biweekly payroll processing verifying timecard data, employee changes, and related documentation.
Partner with HR leadership to provide guidance on labour standards, workforce planning, performance management, and employee development. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation, such as:
+ Employment Standards Act (ESA) or Labour Standards Code, depending on province
+ Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
+ Human Rights Code
+ Labour Relations Act (if unionized)
+ Privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA or provincial equivalents) Drive employee engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, and retention strategies to improve morale and reduce turnover.
Maintain accurate and timely HRIS records, personnel files, and reporting metrics.
Participate in or lead HR-related projects including training, policy rollouts, employee communications, and process improvements.
Act as a culture champion and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
7-10 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant-based environment as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
Solid understanding of employment law, OSHA regulations, and HR best practices in a manufacturing context.
Strong experience with employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations.
Proven ability to work effectively with hourly production teams, supervisors, and plant management as well as Sales, Engineering, and Research.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP, Cornerstone) and Microsoft Office Suite.
CHRP or CHRL designation is a strong asset.
