HR Generalist & Compliance Coordinator

We are seeking a highly competent and versatile HR Generalist & Compliance Coordinator to join our operational team. This critical, multifaceted role is essential for maintaining our robust safety standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing core HR functions, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses a strong background in both Human Resources and organizational compliance.

Key Responsibilities



I. Safety & Compliance Management



? COR Program Oversight: Serve as the designated internal expert and lead for the documentation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety management system.

? Regulatory Compliance: Manage, track, and ensure the timely renewal of all essential corporate licenses, permits, and certifications to maintain operational legality. Review all policies and procedures to confirm compliance with appropriate legislation.

? Workplace Safety: Chair the safety committee, conduct regular documented site safety inspections and risk assessments, collaborate with management to promptly address and mitigate hazards.

? Equipment Safety: Take oversight on Comco's equipment maintenance working with the mechanic to ensure equipment is fit for use. Source new and ensure all safety equipment is in good working order and ready for use.

? Project Safety: Prepare job boards for site work and provide general contractors necessary documentation in respect to our safety program.

II. Human Resources & Administration



? Employee Management: Administer the employee lifecycle, including recruitment support, onboarding, performance documentation, disciplinary processes, and offboarding.

? Payroll Administration: Execute accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring adherence to all federal and provincial labor laws and regulations.

? Culture & Engagement: Actively participate in and lead initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement and reinforce a high-performing, positive corporate culture.

? Benefits Program: Onboard, review and maintain employee benefits.

? Employee Relations: Provide professional, confidential guidance to managers and

employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.

III. General Administration & Support



? Front-Line Support: Provide high-quality administrative support, including participating in a shared schedule for answering and directing phone calls with professionalism and efficiency.

? Administrative Flow: Assist in general office administration when necessary, ensuring a smooth and organized operation, including supply management, vendor safety clearances and coordination.

Qualifications and Experience



? Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

? Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist role with responsibilities that included safety/compliance (e.g., COR, ISO).

? Safety Expertise: Proven track record of managing or successfully auditing a formal safety management system (e.g., COR).

? Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll processes, alongside strong command of Google Workplace.

? Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, an ability to self start, learn and use new computer systems, work independently and demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information with integrity.

? ERP experience is an asset.
