Human Resources Coordinator (with emphasis on Occupational Health & Safety)



Reports To:



General Manager

Position Summary:



The Human Resources Coordinator (with emphasis on Occupational Health & Safety) provides administrative support to the HR function while assisting with the hotel's health and safety programs. This entry-level position is ideal for someone beginning their career in human resources who also has an interest in workplace safety and compliance. The Coordinator will support training and onboarding and promote a safe and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Occupational Health & Safety



Assist in maintaining the hotel's Health & Safety Program with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. Help conduct basic workplace inspections and participate in hazard assessments. Organize monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings and maintain related documentation. Track employee safety training, certifications, and expiry dates. Assist in coordinating safety drills, emergency preparedness, and awareness initiatives. Maintain records of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.

Human Resources



Support employee onboarding and orientation processes, ensuring all required documents and training are completed. Maintain employee files and training documentation. Assist with employee communication, recognition, and engagement activities. Help prepare HR reports, letters, and internal postings. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with hotel policies and employment standards.

Qualifications:



Certificate or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Occupational Health & Safety (or working toward one). Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and interest in workplace safety. Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is an asset but not required.

Rate of Pay (Alberta, 2025):



$50,000 - $53,000

, depending on experience and qualifications.
