HR COORDINATOR
We are looking to hire 2 full-time, contract positions from January to September based out of our head office in Burlington, Ontario. There may be an opportunity to convert to a permanent position or extend the contract. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator along with the office team, will be responsible for the recruitment of all summer day camp staff located in one of 2 regions (EAST - Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick or WEST - Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.)
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop recruiting and sourcing strategies to attract new applicants and returning seasonal staff
Participate in full-cycle recruitment including:
Creating/updating job postings for Camp Counsellors, Supervisors, Regional Coordinators, CITs (Counsellors-in-Training) and Volunteers
Pre-screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
Assist in preparing and issuing employment contracts
Developing a contingency plan for replacing staff
Manage the applicant tracking system, establishing appropriate metrics
May assist with conducting training sessions for all camp staff
Support staff and manage the ongoing employee engagement process
Implement and promote all company policies, procedures, culture, vision, values, and goals
Assist with other departments where necessary (customer service, marketing, general office administration)
Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, or other hiring experience and will be pursuing or has completed a post-secondary education in a related field. Co-op students also are encouraged to apply
Strong and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead and develop staff
Relationship building skills, including team building, conflict resolution & negotiation
Efficient computer skills
Works well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Willingness to work flexible hours (Between 7am and 8pm) and being dependable
WHY JOIN US:
We are a small office in Burlington with a team of approximately 10-12 office staff comprised of full time and seasonal staff. We have an evolving workload that means no two days are the same! During our pre-season from March through May, the focus will be on marketing and advertising our camp program, securing facility permits, recruiting summer camp staff, and providing customer service support for camp inquiries. During the summer months of June to August, the focus is on supporting onsite camp staff, answering customer inquiries, and recruiting for last-minute onsite staff replacements. Work will be conducted at the Burlington head office.
