Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently seeking an experienced HR Associate to join the Human Resources Team. The HR Associate will provide general support to the Human Resources (HR) team regarding the daily administration of the HR function to include several or all of the following: staffing, recruitment, compensation and benefits, training, employee relations, regulatory compliance, performance evaluations and classifications, handling and maintaining drivers abstracts, assist with new hire packages and benefits presentations when requested and other HR administrative functions This is a temporary position with a duration of approximately twelve (12) months and will be located in the Fort Mckay Industrial Park at Fort McKay Group of Companies LP Corporate Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process, verify and register documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications,
  • Maintain and update manual and computerized filing and registration systems, and compile and prepare reports and documents relating to personnel activities,
  • Respond to telephone and written inquiries from staff and the general public regarding job postings
  • Assist recruitment for advertising or posting of job vacancies, assist in screening and rating of job applicants, and conduct reference checks when requested,
  • Book pre-employment Alcohol, Drug, Medical and Physical Demands tests and track tests results to ensure compliance,
  • Ensure to read and understand our HR Policy & Procedure Manual in order to give clear communication when and if asked questions pertaining to our Policies and Procedures,
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized filing system that permits easy reference and rapid retrieval of information,
  • Special organizational and research projects as directed,
  • Exceptional organizational skills,
  • Ability to multi-task,
  • Photo-copying, filing, mailing and faxing documents or correspondence and,
  • Other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma required
  • Certificate or Diploma in Business or Office Administration required or;
  • A combination of post-secondary education courses in Business or Office Administration along with one (1) to two (2) years of experience related to personnel administration, preferably in the HR field
  • Ability to deal with constant change is important
  • Excellent communication and human interaction skills are vital
Working Conditions:

No exposure to safety hazards as the work environment is relatively free of hazards and there are no physically demanding aspects of the job.
