HR Generalist 16: Salaries typically range from $72,840 to $97,121 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.

Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. This role can be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team and Job Overview:




Our Employee Care Centre is currently looking for a reliable team player, with a client service focus, to provide HR support to EDC employees, as well as support the Payroll and HR Information System functions. The successful incumbent will be highly organized, able to multi-task and work independently. The HR Advisor role involves dealing with HR inquiries, performing HR operational tasks, problem solving, as well as Payroll and HRIS processing. Strong interpersonal skills and a great attention to detail will be essential for this position.

What you will be doing:



Provides policy and program interpretation, guidance and advice on HR related matters; Investigates and responds to standard and non-standard questions and consults with subject matter expert inside or outside HR as required on more complex issues. Support the HRIS team in the HRIS Data Management function (PeopleSoft): Accurate data entry within deadline. Support the Payroll team in the payroll function (ADP Pay at Work): preparation and accurate data entry within deadline. Calculate pension contributions for legislated leave and long-term disability cases. Deliver ECC statistics and analyses of HR data; identify trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance. Conducts data analysis, produces reports and prepares presentations as required; Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees undergoing domestic relocations and secondary point of contact for international relocations, providing guidance and support throughout the process, as well as addressing and resolve any issues or challenges that arise. Coordinate with various departments and external vendors to facilitate seamless domestic moving services. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance with company policies and procedures. Continuously evaluate and improve relocation processes to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction. Identifies gaps in information or documentation currently available and may coordinate small projects with moderate guidance to develop new or improved content; Review existing operations in own area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered. Help develop procedures for an area of responsibility and monitor their implementation. Build effective working relationships within other HR teams and teams outside of HR, delivering high-quality professional services with guidance from senior colleagues. Identify instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate. Support inclusion, diversity and equity (ID&E) initiatives and represent the organization's practices professionally throughout our programs.

What we are looking for:



Completed an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Human Resources. Minimum 2 to 5 years' experience in human resources management, or related experience An experienced HR advisor who has well-developed analytical, mathematical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with excellent judgment. Experience in supporting the payroll function (preferably ADP WorkForceNow) Experience supporting in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) (preferably PeopleSoft) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly in Excel Detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently Strong employee focus and demonstrated initiative. Excellent customer service, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of human resources management principles and practices Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Bilingual in English & French
