Housing Coordinator

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Housing Operations, the Housing Coordinator carries out the day-to-day operations required to implement and administer the Rising Tide Housing Program, works with, and supports the Property Management Committee, coordinates renovations and repairs and conducts regular inspections of housing units.

Housing Program



Ensures furniture and furnishings are in the housing units prior to occupancy. This is usually accomplished during the commissioning stage of construction and during unit turnovers Corresponds with colleagues to determine tenant selections and signs leases with new tenants. Thoroughly reviews the lease documents with tenants. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with all tenants and ensures consistent and regular communication. Acts as main point of contact for all property related inquiries related to pre-assigned residential properties. Manages rent collection, receiving and processing payments. Ensures payments are made on time according to tenant agreements; takes appropriate actions to collect outstanding payments, monitoring rental arrears. Administers all housing inspections on a regular basis and acts as needed. Oversees the annual housing budget for pre-assigned properties. Administers the housing application process in accordance with Rising Tide Community Initiatives housing policy. Ensures tenants are abiding by tenant lease agreements and all applicable appendices related to protection of property and takes appropriate actions when complaints are submitted. Communication with tenants around need for unit access including in the case of scheduled maintenance and repairs. Issuing of verbal and written notices to tenants. Conduct wellness checks inside units in cases of concern for the safety and well-being of occupants. Maintains all tenant and property files, ensuring all information is up to date. This includes the completion of incident reports. Liaison with community partners and organizations to support tenants to remain housed

Property Management Committee



Attends Property Management Committee meetings and provides support to the committee. Works with the committee to develop and maintain effective housing policies.

Repairs and Renovations



Works with Property Management contractor to schedule repairs and/or coordinate outsourced services as required, acting as the liaison until services and/or repairs are complete.

Qualifications



Training, Education and Experience

2 years' experience working in a similar role including: Experience conducting building/housing inspections. Experience implementing policy. Experience working with contractors for renovations and repairs. English and French Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and governing bodies as they relate to housing management in New Brunswick. Maintenance and repair knowledge. Understanding of home construction and renovations. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positiverelationships. Excellent communication skills with ability to work with people from various backgrounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to interpret and implement policy. Strong project coordination skills. Conflict resolution skills. Well organized with ability to prioritize. Able to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision as well as working within a collaborative team framework. Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of infrastructure and public works programs. Respect for Rising Tide Community Initiatives culture and protocols.

Pay: $48,965.00-$53,450.00 per year
