The Position

The primary responsibility of Housekeeping & Laundry Attendants is to provide prompt, courteous and quality housekeeping and laundry services in order to achieve a clean, safe and healthy environment for community residents and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Regular duties include:

Resident suite cleaning as assigned: Resident laundry and bed linen changes as requested Resident waste removal Clean community hallways and lounges Clean offices and all common areas including but not limited to: staff room, coffee station, bistro, theatre, learning centre, library, multi-purpose lounge, exercise room, studio, gym, outside patios, hallways, lobbies, etc. Wash/disinfect common area washrooms and replenish supplies. Maintain all hand hygiene stations Empty and clean all waste containers Sweep outside front entrance Clean all entrance and interior glass doors Keep elevators clean and door guides vacuumed Spot clean carpets and all upholstered furniture Sweep and mop all stairwells, including dusting and cleaning all railings Spot wash walls Regularly disinfect all high-touch points, such as elevator call buttons, railings, door knobs, etc.
Additional responsibilities include:

Keep housekeeping closets and cleaning carts clean and tidy Maintain all cleaning equipment and report problems Collect soiled linens and personal clothing of residents Fold, segregate, stack and deliver clean linens and personal clothing Load and unload washers and driers, ensuring that proper settings are used and chemical supplies are kept at an appropriate level Ensure that laundry room, linen closets and all equipment and carts are kept clean and sanitary at all times Thoroughly clean vacant suites and refresh regularly Attend to emergency cleaning situations including in-suite Complete and submit required forms/documentation Various other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous housekeeping experience an asset Strong oral and written communication skills Must be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision Must be available to work nights and weekend shifts
