Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the finance team by performing accurate data entry, maintaining financial records, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure efficient financial operations and compliance with organizational policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATION
Assists the Finance Manager with accounting tasks, including:
Entering accounts payable transactions
Processing Purchase Order (PO) requests
Monitoring, tracking and distribution of incoming POs
Provide vacation/leave coverage for other accounting roles within the department
DATA ENTRY AND REPORTING
Accurately enters time, equipment, and material data into daily Labour, Equipment, and Materials (LEMs) reports
Tracks and records employee time for intercompany billings and reconciliations
Prepares and tracks employee reimbursements requests
FINAL PROCESSING
Processes vendor invoices and ensures timely payment in accordance with company policies
Reconciles accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy
Assists in preparing financial reports and summaries as directed by the Finance Manager
COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION
Maintains organized and accurate financial records for audit and compliance purposes
Ensures all documentation adheres to company policies and regulatory requirements
Supports internal and external audits by providing requested financial data and documentation
Qualifications:
One to three years accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred)
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive financial information
Previous experience in accounting or administrative roles, preferably in the construction or mining industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and vendors
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks under time constraints
Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing to a team environment
Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance processes is an asset
