Description :

The Continuing Education Department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course LINUX ADMINISTRATION II (420-763-LA).



This course will cover the various services that can be implemented on a Linux server.


Students will configure a Linux server with the following services: DNS, Apache, Nginx, sendmail, Postfix, Dovecot, DHCP, samba, LAMP, LEMP, nfs, and Firewall Services.

Required Qualifications :

Must have a thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use of Linux security best practices and advanced topics (server administration, virtualization, containerization) and distribution (Ubuntu, CentOS, or Debian).


Must also have thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience in the configuration of DNS, Apache, Nginx, sendmail,


Postfix, Dovecot, DHCP, samba, LAMP, LEMP, nfs, and Firewall Services.

Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.


Should have a good understanding of Linux machines or virtual machines (e.g., using VirtualBox or VMware) for hands-on practice.


Experience teaching an adult clientele is an asset.


Proficiency in English is required.

Comments :

This course will be delivered through distance learning (on zoom) in a synchronous format.


However, the teacher may require that students come onsite to write their final exams in person.


Final exam dates will be determined by the instructor in collaboration with the pedagogical advisor.


Experience with online course delivery platforms such as Zoom, Moodle, LEA and Microsoft Teams is required.

Thursdays

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

(EXCEPT: March 5)



The schedule and course dates may change based on the needs of the program.



This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
