to assist in the upkeep of our hotel facilities, including routine maintenance, repairs, and ensuring the proper functioning of pools and hot tubs. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.
REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Maintenance Coordinator, Blackbush.
Responsibilities:
General Maintenance:
Perform basic repairs to maintain and fix common issues such as patching drywall, painting, fixing leaky faucets, and unclogging drains.
Hot tubs and swimming pools daily maintenance
Conduct safety and security inspection of Resort area as required.
Identify and report structural or system breakdowns to the supervisor.
Troubleshoot heating, electrical, and water systems, coordinate with contractors for complex issues.
Maintain documentation of maintenance work and update inventory records
Exterior Maintenance
Property walk through / Inspection
Seasonal tasks like snow removal or grass cutting, watering garden
Conduct visual inspections of external structures and systems (e.g., irrigation, siding/foundation, roofing)
Garbage collection.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Guest satisfaction with the facilities
Preventative maintenance completed
Response time on maintenance issues
Qualifications:
1 to 3 years previous experience in hotel maintenance, general repair work, or pool maintenance is preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry is an asset.
Pool Operator Certification (CPO) is an asset but not required.
Completion of a certified trades apprenticeship program (preferred)
Hands-on experience using tools and equipment safely and effectively
Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and applicable regulations
Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various conditions, and stand for long periods.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and emergency repairs
Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Demonstrated equivalencies of education or experience will be considered
