Sheraton Ottawa Hotel is currently seeking a part-time General Maintenance Worker.

This position requires ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays (as per seniority)

Responsibilities:

Respond to maintenance calls in a courteous, professional and timely manner, liaising with other operational departments as required. Perform general maintenance and repairs including painting, dry walling, tiling, carpentry, caulking, and other general contractor duties. Perform preventative maintenance assignments as required. Maintaining accurate log and maintenance records and monitoring stock inventory. Maintaining cleanliness of an integrity of mechanical areas, shop and tools. Maintaining fire equipment and systems and handling specific fire alarm response duties. Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring adherence to guidelines and legislation outlined in the occupational Health & Safety Act. All other duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to answer the phone continuously. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill required tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
