The Edmonton Hotel and Convention Centre has an employment opportunity for a full time evenings and weekend Maintenance worker.

We are looking for a dedicated, self-disciplined candidate to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate should have sincere desire to provide excellent customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Performs general guest room and public area maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment. Provides guest room service/repair status to Front Desk, Maintenance Supervisor, and the Housekeeping supervisor. Performs general carpentry, tiling, painting and wall surface repairs. Checks on all guest room electrical appliances and circuits, including refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, making repairs where necessary. Responds in a timely, courteous manner to guest questions, complaints, or requests. Properly maintains tools, work spaces, and equipment. Maintain stocks required for maintenance and order parts and supplies Completes preventive maintenance Conduct water tests and maintain water chemistry for the pool and hot tub Maintain hotel grounds including snow removal, lawn moving and lot clean ups Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum two years of hotel or apartment experience preferred. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance. Experience with general maintenance tools. Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward. Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
