Hotel Maintenance Technician - Full Time

Wage:

$24.00 - $25.00 per hour

Hours:

32-40 per week

The Explorer Hotel, Yellowknife's premier full-service hotel, is looking for a dedicated Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the hotel's facilities and ensuring a comfortable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including drywall, mudding, taping, and painting Assist with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems (experience in these areas is an asset) Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems Ensure exterior areas are safe and well-maintained, including shoveling snow and clearing walkways Lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 40 lbs Support the maintenance team with various tasks as assigned

Requirements:

Experience with drywall, mudding, taping, and painting (required) Additional experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC is a strong asset Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Shift flexibility, including availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, shoveling, and assisting with general labor
