We are excited to be recruiting for a Part Time Hotel Front Desk Agent for our amazing property, The Norwood Hotel. Must have open availability, as shifts will be days, evenings and weekends.



The Norwood Hotel has always been an innovative leader in the hotel industry. The Norwood Hotel has an interesting and diverse history dating back to the latter part of the 1800's. The earliest records available indicate a photograph of the hotel in 1895. In 1937, the Hotel came under the ownership of the late Merle Sparrow and has been operated by the Sparrow family ever since. This longevity in ownership makes the Norwood the oldest operated family hotel in Manitoba and one, if not the oldest in all of Western Canada.

Job Summary


We are seeking a friendly and professional Front Desk Agent to join our team at our hotel. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:



Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location.

Ensure valid identification is taken from guests at check-in

Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner

Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue

Answer all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns

Record guest preferences in the PMS system

Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges

Accurately process all guest transactions using established procedures

Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring.

Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.

Ensure all credit cards and debit transactions balance

Must be available to work flexible shifts, holidays and weekends

What you bring to the table:



Direct Front Desk experience in a fast-paced Hotel setting (at least 1 year)

Positive and hardworking attitude

Ability to effectively communicate with team members.

Ability to speak French is considered an asset.

The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.80 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
