Job Description

Summary The Operational Leader HNA will direct all activities related to shipment of goods from suppliers to either GE Hydro facilities, either end Customer (as per contract INCOTERM).
The role requires seasoned leadership skills, strong knowledge of Logistics activities, projects and quality processes, tools and systems as well as the ability to collaborate with and influence key decision makers.



Major elements of the mission of the external logistics leader are about:

- Deploying the sourcing strategy in HNA for the Logistics Sourcing categories to meet Hydro Business strategic targets. Logistics Sourcing Categories includes: transport, customs agents for export, packing operations, warehousing.

- Coordinating Logistics Execution from assumptions at ITO stage to implementation in OTR and potential deviations. Mitigating risks from the Logistics & Customs processes & tools by optimizing the cost

- Creating value to all business activities including R&D, Tendering, Engineering, Project and Manufacturing by bringing suppliers' expertise into Hydro Business strategy and enhance suppliers' performance including EHS.

All these activities to control / improve the total cost, cash and quality of the delivered goods/services, contributing to Hydro Business results.

Essential Responsibilities

- Within the HNA Region

  • Monitor Logistics spend vs budget (usage, prices), Reviews regional Logistics risks & opportunities through specific KPI's; including Project Logistics Performance
  • Lead HNA T&L Team including Monitoring operational KPI from T&L team using MTA, workload and providing operational support to the team when require
  • Ensure regional leverage of GE panel for packing & storage subcontracting operations including by monitoring on-going contracts, supplier performance and forecast
  • Ensure routes feasibility & road surveys in ITO
  • Consolidate forecast for transport, packing & storage subcontracting - using EPP T&L for cost traceability
  • Monitor adherence to negotiated rates & payment terms
  • Ensure Root Cause Analysis and Feedback of Experience from major Cost of Quality
  • Contribute to Design cost out and propose guidelines for Design Reviews
  • Review and consolidated iVoC (internal Voice of Customer), propose global improvement action plan
  • Ensure measurement of Supplier performance and Vendor Bill Back reviews
  • Contribute to Regulatory monitoring (customs, EHS, ITC, ...)

Qualification/Requirement

- Master's degree in Logistics or Purchasing profession

- Experience in Logistics: >10 years experience in Logistics Operations and/or Logistics Sourcing

- Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook)

- Ability to work in English, in a global environment and a matrix organization
