Birmingham International Collegiate of Canada (BICC) is a private Ontario-inspected high school in Toronto, serving a diverse international student community.
We are seeking a
professional, organized, and friendly School Receptionist / Administrative Assistant
to serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and staff. This role is central to maintaining smooth daily operations and a welcoming school environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and administrative skills, with opportunities to grow into a
supervisory or managerial position
as experience and leadership develop.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Communication
Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors with professionalism.
Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and courteously.
Administrative Support
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and correspondence per Ministry guidelines.
Support the admissions process through data entry and document management.
Prepare official documents, reports, letters, and invoices.
Office Operations
Schedule appointments, organize meetings, and assist staff with clerical tasks (filing, scanning, copying, etc.).
Manage office supplies and coordinate orders to ensure stock levels.
Community Liaison
Communicate with parents, agents, and guardians regarding attendance and school updates.
Facilitate information flow between teachers, parents, and students.
Other Duties
Provide general administrative support as needed to ensure efficient daily school operations.
Qualifications
Required:
1-2 years of administrative or receptionist experience (school or education setting preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, welcoming demeanor.
Assets:
Experience working with international students or in an education environment.
Multilingual ability (Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, etc.).
Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration or related field.
