As a crucial member of the Clinical Learning and Simulation Centre (CLSC) team, the High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the high-fidelity simulation curriculum delivery. Reporting directly to the Director of the Clinical Learning and Simulation Centre, the High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager provides leadership to and supervises a team of simulation coordinators responsible for the delivery of simulation. The High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager will liaise with faculty and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of simulation within the Faculty of Medicine. They will also liaise with collaborative disciplines utilizing the centre to facilitate a simulation-based curriculum. The High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager plays an instrumental role in supporting the integration of simulation within healthcare. The successful applicant will build and foster relationships with Memorial University (MUN) Faculty of Medicine CLSC administration and faculty leadership.

In this role, the High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager supervises and coordinates the development of simulation and process improvement, supports the implementation of new simulation methodologies, assists with program accreditation, and facilitates communication with faculty and stakeholders regarding simulation scenarios. They must ensure that all simulation programs align with adult learning principles and meet quality outcomes. They are responsible for ensuring that all simulation programs are designed to meet the unique needs of healthcare professionals, align with best practices, and promote continuous quality improvement. Through their leadership, the High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager helps to drive innovation in simulation education and healthcare delivery.

This role is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing special simulation education sessions such as conferences, professional development, competency courses (ACLS, PALS, ATLS), and simulation and process improvement education workshops.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The High-Fidelity Simulation Program Manager\'s duties include the following:

  • Independently supervise a team of simulation coordinators and be responsible for creating and implementing effective methodologies to act as a liaison in delivering simulation-based curriculums
  • With minimal supervision, be responsible for devising and maintaining faculty development programs to ensure that they are up-to-date and relevant
  • Acting as a liaison between faculty, clinical educators, stakeholders, and simulation teams across various disciplines and sites
  • Playing a key role in adopting new methodologies to enhance the delivery of simulation services within healthcare
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing special simulation education sessions such as conferences, professional development, competency courses (ACLS, PALS, ATLS) and simulation and process improvement education
  • Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to liaise in developing and implementing an effective simulation curriculum within the CLSC and potential usage within stakeholder environments
  • Implementation of evaluation tools to measure customer satisfaction and quality
  • Maintaining professional skills and staying current with national and international advances in simulation pedagogy
  • Understanding and ensuring maintenance of all equipment used in the simulation center, including software and simulation equipment
  • Accountable for planning and coordinating simulation education sessions such as conferences and workshops
  • Performing other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a graduate degree in health-related field and/or experience (5+ years) in health care education, simulation, or process improvement work and program management supplemented by a bachelor\'s degree in a health-related field, including supervisory experience
  • Coursework toward a master\'s degree in a related field would be considered an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and time management skills are required
  • Excellent leadership skills and analytical thinking are required
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, is required
  • Experience in post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems would be considered an asset
  • Training and experience delivering healthcare learning programs such as ACLS, PALS, and ATLS is an asset
  • Completion of Certification in Simulation Education would be required within two years of hire
  • Experience with regional health authority would be considered an asset
