Duties

Delivers interpretive presentations, programs and activities to provide visitors of the park with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn about and enjoy the place and its natural and/or cultural resources and understand their significance to Canada.

We seeking a Heritage Presenter to help deliver interpretive presentations, programs, events and information to help share the natural and cultural history of our National Park.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
A High School diploma or equivalent or a minimum of three (3) months experience working in the fields of education, interpretation, and/or outreach-communications. Degree equivalency
Essential Experience
  • Experience in delivering messages and information to groups for the purpose of education, engagement, or entertainment

  • Experience in interacting with the public in a reception, orientation and/or interpretation capacity .

A3: Client Focus - Responding to client needs in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner, regardless of client attitude. Looking for ways to add value.

General knowledge of the ecology, geology, and cultural heritage of Gros Morne National Park
  • Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
  • Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform or historical costume when required.

Conditions of employment


Reliability Status security clearance - required.

  • Possession of a valid class 5 driver\'s license OR personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid Driver\'s license within the limits of the Treasury Board Policy
